However, if you spend a little more money and buy some silicone blades, they will last MUCH longer than standard rubber blades. Most silicone wiper blades have a 5-year warranty on them, and cost about $20 per blade or less. The cost is about the same or less than OE blades from the dealer, and about the same as 3 years worth of buying aftermarket blades.



I have a set on my vehicle that have been there for over 6 years and still work just like brand new. I have to admit I was skeptical when I bought them, but 6 years later it was well worth the money I paid for them.

twice a year. If you have daylight savings time where you live then I would do it spring and fall when time changes. That is what I do.
I personally replace them around the end of fall, when it starts raining more often, every year, but I live in a area that is hot and dry through all of the spring through mid to late fall. If you live in area that has a long period of hot, I'd replace them before it starts becoming more wet. If you live somewhere where it's not as hot, or rains more often, I'd be replacing them whenever they start to do an inadequate job. Typically, the adverage Wal-Mart blades work just as good as anything else, I reccomend either the Rain-X or the Michelin blades, they seem to work the best, and last a bit longer

All that information depends on the make/model. Everything in your car manual will tell you when you should replace air filters, change oil, what oil to use..etc. Changing tires depends on the tire wear. When you get your oil changed they usually check your tires.

It gives your cars computer system time to check everything, and also for the oil to get up into the berings. 90 percent of the engines wear isn't from driving, it's from starting the car up.

Follow a well prepared maitenance schedule. Oil changes etc. Keep records and reciepts and it will add value when you go to sell or trade the car down the road. Your service manual will give you all the info you need.

dude, all i know is that if you really wanna take care of your car, it takes MONEY lol esp. if you get those beater cars or if you're hella sprung off of it and you wanna add a body kit, rims, big *** spoiler, etc...*siigh* exhausting :P

I have a '73 Monte Carlo with two speed windshield wipers, and I want to make them intermittent. Is it possible to swap in the wiper motor from a Caddy or Oldsmobile and change the switch? I don't even know if any Chevys came with that option back then. I'd appreciate detailed answers if this is possible.

My windshield wipers were streaking up my windows, so when I took my car in for service, I had them change the blades. This, if anything, made the problem worse.



I recently e-mailed the dealership about this and they said that they would apply car wax to the window to stop it. This sounded kind of strange to me, but they were confident it would work. I've searched the Internet for a solution such as this, but have found nothing.



Anyone heard of this idea? I've tried wiping the blades clean, but it eventually still happens. I don't want to have to wipe my blades every few days... there's got to be a better solution, no?

old blades maybe just because they new dont mean they good so stop by any auto parts store and get some only a few buck and take only a minute to replace just a clip pull and slide back in any small kid should be able to do it buy some new ones at autozone they will help you do it and i bet that will fix the problem.. th eproblem is that even thro the baldes are new they are old and dry you cant reallly look at them and tell but thats what it is just for buy some new ones like i said auto zone 10 bucks maybe

They might not be sitting tight against the windscreen. Try changing the actual wiper if it is a serious problem.

All you need to do is use a flat head screw driver or a butter knife in a jam and just push the metal clips on the blade's back and then it should slide right off. I have tried to open up the clips on the wipers which will work but is not worth the time to try to get the back lined up.



If the wiper is from the factory my 2003 wiper blades were literally attached to the metal. I took a knife %26amp; cut them loose. I then opened the clips and re-aligned them %26amp; yes it did take time.

go to auto zone and ask them to help they will for free.
you should see a clip on the underside of the wiper. You can push that clip down, and then pull down. You can install the same way.
